This award winning leading Manufacturer of Control System Products are looking for a Systems Administrator / DevOps Engineer to join their small multi-disciplined Software Development Team. As a System Administrator / DevOps Engineer you will be working as part of the software team supporting the development and delivery of new software releases as well as supporting their live production environments for their smart control systems / IoT.
The position is ideal for an Engineer who has experience in maintaining and supporting internet services deployed on both AWS and vSphere cloud infrastructure. Duties include but are not limited to networking, production, staging and test server provision, Linux based system administration, database administration and responding to customer issues.
Experience managing containerized deployments and big data technologies would be a big advantage and an ability to learn new technologies quickly is essential. In addition, you will be a key player in the regular scrum ceremonies held especially when defining acceptance criteria and estimating the size / complexity of stories.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities include :
• Managing AWS infrastructure
• Provisioning and maintaining servers using vSphere / VMWare
• Creation and configuration of Linux based virtual machines
• Deploying, maintaining and optimizing live internet services
• DNS, Firewall, Proxy Server management
• Shell scripting and automation
• Managing source code and build environments
• Certificates generation and management
• Systems troubleshooting
• Alerts and monitoring configuration
• Disaster recovery planning
• Database administration
The System Administrator / DevOps Engineer will have experience of Nix Systems, Linux, Disaster Recovery, Database Administration (MySQL & MongoDB), Packaging management services, Automated builds, Alerts / Monitoring, Automated Deployment, Jenkins, and GIT / SVN.
It would be Desirable if you have experience of vSphere, VMware, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Java, Python, Perl, Bash.
